Where the buck stops – lowland deer on Scotland’s roads
Deer and traffic don’t mix – but is it a case of too many deer, too many vehicles, or both?
Two morning seminars in May staged jointly by the Lowland Deer Network Scotland (LDNS) and Scottish Land and Estates (SLE) will examine the issues, the responsibilities and the consequences, of deer on roads in a low ground context.

2. Gullane Village Hall, Hall Lane, Gullane, East Lothian EH31 2HA on Friday 19 May from 10.30am.
The seminars will conclude by 13.00hrs.
The meetings will look at the general and local perspectives around roads and deer, the national view from ecological consultant and deer vehicle collision expert Jochen Langbein (Langbein Wildlife); the actions being taken by Transport Scotland and the trunk road operating companies to mitigate against deer vehicle collisions; and a discussion on responsibilities, solutions, and courses of action available to the deer manager, landowner and others.

Landowners and land managers, gamekeepers, stalkers, local authorities, community council representatives, agencies, farmers, forestry companies.
